How the Formula Works
This calculator uses product-specific dosing ratios to determine the exact amount of remineralizer needed:
TDS Increase Needed = Target TDS - Current TDS
Grams Needed = (TDS Increase / TDS per Gram) x Water Volume
Teaspoons = Grams / 3 (approximate)
Each remineralizer product has a different concentration and mineral composition, which is why we maintain a database of TDS-per-gram ratios for popular products like Salty Shrimp, SL-Aqua, Glasgarten, and Dennerle.
For best accuracy, we recommend using a digital scale rather than measuring scoops. Product scoops can vary in how much powder they actually hold depending on how you scoop and pack the powder.
